'What a character' - Why Koeman was sent off against Granada
The referee's report explained why the Dutch coach was dismissed in the second half
"After being warned about his observations, he again approached the fourth official saying the following: 'What a character.'"
That is why González Fuertes sent Ronald Koeman off in the second half of Barcelona's 2-1 defeat to Granada on Thursday at Camp Nou.
In principle, Koeman could have to watch the next two games from the stands, against Valencia and Atletico Madrid, unless the club successfully appeals.
Koeman was furious at being dismissed and complained after the game.
"According to the report I disrespected the fourth official," Koeman said in a press conference. "I don't understand because I didn't insult him at all. If anything, the way he spoke to me was disrespectful.
"I spoke to him about various incidents but always respectfully. I'd like to know what words I supposedly used because I didn't say anything ugly. It's incredible. But if the fourth official wants to be the centre of attention..."
