The Barcelona coach, Quique Setien, is aware that Lionel Messi's contract allows him to decide each summer if he wants to stay or leave the club.
However, Setien is happy with the Argentine footballer and has told SPORT he will do all he can to make sure he wants to remain at Camp Nou.
"I hope we can make him so happy that he's desperate to stay. But he will be here in the future anyway, I have no doubts about that," he said when asked about Messi by SPORT.
The new Barça boss is delighted to be coaching the world's best player and assured he would have given his little finger to have been able to coach him one day.
On his relationship with Messi since taking over, he added: "Contact has been normal, like with any player. He's convinced about what we can win.
"You can tell he's a winner and that he wants things done well. He's interested in the team talks. He knows he's an important player, that he can solve many games, but we have to focus on the team to be stronger."
