Wague lacking match practice heading in Barça's game at Leganes

The right-back did not feature for Senegal on Sunday

Moussa Wague could make his first appearance of the season next weekend for Barcelona when they travel to Leganes in the league.

Barça are without the injured Nelson Semedo and suspended Sergi Roberto for the game, which in theory leaves the right-back position open for the Senegal international.

Wague, 21, began the season with hope after being promoted from the B team and making several appearances in preseason. But he's not appeared since the official games started. He's only been in three squads, against inter, Osasuna and Getafe, but he's not played a minute.

The Leganes game comes after the international break and it was hoped that he would have had some minutes with Senegal. And he has, albeit only 90 minutes across two games.

Wague played the whole game at Senegal beat Congo 2-0 but he was left on the bench for their second game, a 4-1 win over Swaziland on Sunday.

Coach Aliou decided not to use him, but it's not all bad news. It meant that he was not put at risk of injury and should be fit for the return of La Liga next weekend.
