The club say the supporters understand why these measures have been adopted

Josep Vives, FC Barcelona's spokesman, has explained some of the details behind the measured taken by the club in an attempt to help contain covid-19.

Vives told Catalunya Radio that Barça "will not compensate club members (season ticket holders) for the games that will be played behind closed doors, it's a case of force majeure."

He added that the club have not received any claims in that aspect, saying that the fans understand the measures and that season tickets don't cover certain matches.

"At the moment, public health is the most important thing," he said. "Barcelona's financial losses are also important."

As for the Champions League game, Vives said that so far no one has told the club how Napoli will get to Barcelona after flights in and out of Italy to and from Spain were canceled.

"No one has explained to us how they will arrive and how they will get back, but we don't have news that they won't come," he said. "We are not working on the idea that the game won't be played."

Finally, Vives said that "the players have not manifested any fears about playing against the Italians. The club will lose six million euros and we have already returned the ticket money to the Italian fans."
