The 'groguet' club have told the player's agent, Claudio Curti, that they will not let him leave for less than 42 million euros, his termination clause.

Villarreal will not release Juan Foyth for less than 42 million euros. With less than two weeks left in the transfer window, the club have told the player's agent that they are unwilling to sell one of Unai Emery's most important players. Villarreal have chosen to stand by the buy-out clause of the Argentine full-back.

After meeting with Mateu Alemany, Foyth's agent, Claudio Curti, went to the Villarreal offices on Thursday to talk to the Yellow Submarine's directors. As it had been reported in the Valencian press, Fernando Roig and his department made it very clear that the defender from La Plata will not be sold for less than 42 million euros.

Unai Emery had hinted earlier in a press conference that unwanted departures from Villarreal will only happen through the payment of the termination clause or on the request of a player with a good offer. The coach does not believe that Foyth will leave the Estadio de la Cerámica. "When rumours come out, we try to find out how the player is doing. Juan is very happy with us and very grateful to the club. He is very grateful for everything he is experiencing here. He gives me a lot of peace of mind," he told the media.

The rest is in the hands of Mateu Alemany and Barça's sporting management. The club must decide whether to go for Foyth or explore other, more affordable alternatives on the market.
