Víctor Font explains why he wants Bartomeu's immediate resignation
He published a thread on Twitter explaining his views on the current incumbent
Barcelona's potential next president, Víctor Font, explained in aTwitter thread why he is asking for Josep Maria Bartomeu's resignation "as soon as possible" and that of his board too.
Font said that although "we have always been supporters of institutional stability, at this time this stability involves the resignation of the president and his board of directors as soon as possible." He argues that "in the coming months it is necessary to make important decisions for the future of the club" such as "the renewal of the squad, the Rakuten / Beko contract, promoting 'Espai Barça', title rights, etc., and it is key that these decisions are taken in the context of a new project."
And he sees it unfeasible for decisions to be made by the members of the current board of directors: "This board of directors has shown that it is not prepared to make this type of decision and it is for this reason that we have asked for their immediate resignation and to advance the elections scheduled for next year."
The candidate considers that neither he nor other candidates for the presidency benefit from an electoral advance "because it means using up a year in office having to close the accounts of a year that has already started with all the associated risks. It only favours Barça's interests."
