Vermaelen has never tasted defeat in La Liga for Barcelona

Barcelona defender Thomas Vermaelen has never lost a league game since he joined Barcelona in 2014-15. The Belgian has played 6 La Liga games, winning 13 and drawing three. 

Vermaelen, who began the 2017-18 season as Barça's fourth centre-back, has earned his place in the team following injuries to Samuel Umtiti and Javier Mascherano. From not even being on the bench, he's become a regular starter. 

What's more, with him on the pitch, the Catalan side have only conceded once. He made his debut in a 2-2 draw with Deportivo in 2015, but was taken off before Depor scored either goal, playing for 62 minutes. 

The following season (2015-16), he played 10 league games, winning all 10. During those games and with Vermaelen on the pitch, they conceded just once, Juanpi scoring for Malaga. 

Last season he was on loan at Roma and in the current campain he has played in the last five league games: three wins (Villarreal, Depor, Real Madrid) and two draws (Valencia and Celta Vigo). In those games, only Valencia have scored with him on the pitch. 

In total, since he joined the club he's played 29 games in all competitions, winning 22, drawing six and losjng one (against Athletic Club in the 2015-16 Spanish Super Cup). 

He has played 1,984 minutes and Barça have conceded 11 goals in those minutes, an average of one every 180 minutes.
