Netherlands coach believes Frenkie can play on Saturday for Barça

It was a horrid night for Barça in the Nations League matches during this international break.

Ousmane Dembélé and Jules Koundé were forced off with injuries for France.

So were Frenkie de Jong and Memphis Depay after picking up injuries for the Netherlands during their match against Robert Lewandowski's Poland.

The latter two were spoken about by Oranje coach Louis Van Gaal, assessing the injuries, and being more negative about Memphis' injury than Frenkie's.

"We didn't take any risks with him. And neither with Frenkie de Jong. We changed him at half-time as a precaution because he had some tightness in his muscles. But Frenkie knows his own body well and believes he can play on Saturday," said the coach, predicting that the midfielder could be available to Xavi this weekend.

"For Memphis to go off with such an injury does not bode well," Van Gaal added. "I don't think he will play on Saturday."

Barça will have to do without the Dutch forward for the match at the Visit Mallorca Stadium this Saturday 1 October at 21:00, LaLiga Matchday 7.
