Ernesto Valverde spoke about Dembele's first few weeks in Catalonia

The coach believes he's going to give the team more and more

In the press conference to preview Barcelona's trip to Getafe on Saturday, Ernesto Valverde was asked about Ousmane Dembele's adaption to his new team.

The coach said: "He’s getting better in training all the time, but we'll see how he does competitively. We hope he’s going to keep giving us more and more. You always ask about him, because there’s a lot of hope in him, but we have to give him time."

Valverde also said that he doesn't think the club's record signing has been impacted by having to play alongside Lionel Messi.

"I think he seems fine," he said. "I didn't see how he trained with his last team, but Barca play differently [to Dortmund] so he’s getting involved with a different idea and familiarising himself with his team-mates. I don't think he's been impacted."

Dembele made his first start for his new side in the 3-0 win over Juventus in midweek and could start his first league game at Getafe on Saturday.
