The coach spoke after the 2-1 defeat by Chelsea on Tuesday

FC Barcelona coach Ernesto Valverde spoke about the 2-1 defeat by Chelsea, which he doesn't believe is too important.

"It was an intense game in some moments and it was noticable that they were playing their fourth game and for us it was the first," said the coach. "We also played with a lot of young players and debutants. It was a test to get started in the competition."

On Griezmann he said: "He should get comfortable, improve, but each time he gets the ball he has very bad intentions for the opponent. He's very dangerous with the ball and we expect a lot from him. When we can dominate more, he will have more interventions."

On Sergi Roberto, was a midfielder: "We're thinking this year he will play in the middle of the pitch."

Frenkie de Jong: "Against Chelsea he played as a pivote but he can play as an interior, we'll see."

Rakitic: "Like each year he has to fight for his place, we'll see what happens this year. He's always fought for it and won it, but he has a lot of players ahead of him and a lot of competition."

Semedo: "He's good for us. A really fast player against strong rivals like today. He gets up and comes back at great speed, a very valuable player for us."
