Valverde: What more can I say... it's awesome that Messi's with us

Ernesto Valverde is running out of ways to describe a player as good as Lionel Messi, who starred in Barcelona's 4-0 Catalan derby win over Espanyol.
"What am I going to say about Messi..." the Barça coach said after the Argentine scored two free kicks in the comfortable win.
"He stands out in any game he plays. We're infinitely fortunate to be able to have him and enjoy him. We're witnessing an unrepeatable era with him."
"What more can I say? I think it's awesome that he's playing for us & hopefully he keeps scoring free kicks!"
Messi's performance came at the end of a week in which he finished fifth in the Ballon d'Or, behind winner Luka Modric, as well as Cristiano Ronaldo, Antoine Griezmann and Kylian Mbappe.
Valverde added: "It's remarkable that he wasn't among the nominees for the Ballon d'Or. I don't know if it's something that annoys him, you'd have to ask him, but it obviously catches the attention that he's not in the running for awards given to the best."
