The coach says issues should be resolved internally, not in public

Marc-Andre ter Stegen's comments after Barcelona's win against Slavia Prague continue to cause a fuss. The goalkeeper's self-criticism of the team was put to Ernesto Valverde ahead of Tuesday's La Liga game against Real Valladolid.

The Barcelona coach agreed with the message behind the German's words, although he feels that what happened at the Eden Arena in Prague was normal, given the situation in the game.

"When the matches finishes, each person has their own sense of what's happened," Valverde said. "When the game ended in Prague, we were all a little cold because the final five minutes had been stressful. It's the same that would have happened in Eibar if we were only winning 1-0."

However, Valverde's in agreement with what Ter Stegen expressed in the mixed zone: "With respect to what Marc said, games can be resolved in many ways, but as he says, all this has to be resolved internally, not in public."

Speaking after the win in the Czech Republic, Ter Stegen had said the team "were not at the level we wanted to be at." Valverde was clear that maybe "people pay too much attention to the final five minutes and not what's happened throughout the whole game."
