Valverde on the Neymar situation: It's like it's following me
The Barcelona coach has had to speak about the Brazilian in Miami twice now...
Ernesto Valverde was asked about the reports Real Madrid are interested in signing Neymar after his Barcelona side beat Napoli 2-1 in Miami.
Two years ago, when Barça last played in Miami, the coach was also asked about Neymar, that time because he was about to sign for Paris Saint-Germain.
This time, Neymar wants to leave PSG and Barcelona and Madrid have both been linked with a move for the Brazilian.
"[Neymar to Madrid reports] are from yesterday," Valverde said. "Let's see what happens tomorrow. The last time I came to this stadium, I had to answer a load of questions about Neymar. Two years later, it's the same again, it's like it's following me. I don't know what's going to happen."
Meanwhile, Philippe Coutinho looks set to stay at Camp Nou for now with a move to the Premier League failing to materialise before the transfer window shuts in England on Thursday.
"Of course I am counting on him," Valverde said after leaving Coutinho out of the win over Napoli because he's only just returned to training following a break after the Copa del Rey.
"We don't know what's going to happen, but he's with us. He didn't play today because, like Arthur and [Arturo] Vidal, they've only had two training sessions.
"The plan is the same. Bring them in little by little. We will see if on Saturday he can play some minutes. The idea is the same with him as everyone else. We count on him, of course."
