Valverde breathes easier: Jordi Alba's injury not as bad as feared

According to AS he will be out for no longer than 15 days

Jordi Alba injured his hamstring in the first half of Tuesday's goalless draw at Borussia Dortmund and was forced off, replaced by Sergi Roberto, with Nelson Semedo moving to left-back.

The initial fear was that he would be out for more than a month, but Diario AS say he will be sidelined for a maximum of two weeks.

Alba was unchallenged when injured, which led to the assumption it could be quite serious. He was taken off before half time, with Sergi Roberto coming on because Junior Firpo wasn't even in the squad.

According to AS, initial tests have shown that Alba will only be out for between 10 and 15 days with a minor hamstring strain.

Barça are at Granada on Saturday, then host Villarreal next Tuesday. They then travel to Getafe in the league before welcoming Inter in the Champions League on Oct. 2.

It should be a chance for Junior, a summer signing from Real Betis, to play a few games for his new club.
