Valladolid's promotion makes Barcelona some Monchu money
The Catalan club will benefit from the midfielder's permanent transfer from Granada
Good news for Barcelona. Real Valladolid's promotion to LaLiga will bring in some much-needed cash for the Catalan club. The reason? Ramón Rodríguez Jiménez, better known as 'Monchu'.
The La Masia graduate left Barça last summer after almost a decade at the club. He was allowed to join Granada for free, but with 50% of any future transfer going to Barça.
Monchu left Granada at the start of the season for Valladolid, who he has helped seal their return to the top flight of Spanish football.
As a result, Valladolid are obliged to make the loan permanent, which will cost them €1.5 million. Of that cash, €750,000 will go to Barça.
