Pep Guardiola was named the Best Coach at the Gala de les Estrelles organised by the Catalan Football Federation on Tuesday. The Manchester City boss could not attend the even, though, because it clashed with his side's game against Burnley in the Premier League.
Guardiola sent a message of thanks, where he said "I want to share it with Rubi, for taking Espanyol into the Europa League, and with Lluis Cortes, for reaching the final of the women's Champions League."
To receive the trophy from Gerard Figueras was Pep's father, Valentí, who left the door very much open to his son returning to Barcelona in the future.
"Maybe Pep will return to Barça one day," he said. "He's the one that decides. I am really proud of him and of my other children."
Guardiola was Barcelona coach for four years, winning three league titles and two Champions Leagues in that time. He has since coaches Bayern Munich and Man City.
