Los Che released a statement saying they want to renew the midfielder's contract

Valencia have denied reaching an agreement to sell Carlos Soler to Barcelona for €20 million this summer.

Diario AS reported Monday that Barça had agreed on a fee with Valencia and personal terms with Soler, although added that the deal was dependent on Frenkie de Jong being sold first.

"Don't lie," Valencia wrote on their Twiter account before releasing a statement.

The statement said: "In response to a story published this Monday in Spanish newspaper Diario AS, Valencia CF deny the existence of any agreement -or any ongoing negotiation- with FC Barcelona for the transfer of Carlos Soler.

"The club are currently in an open negotiation process with the player and his agents to extend his contract with Valencia CF."
