USMNT, Champions League, Copa... Konrad gets last Liga chance at Eibar
The winger's had a good season but has not yet featured in the league for Barça
Konrad de la Fuente is in the Barcelona squad for the final leagie game of the season. He has made his debut for the club in the Champions League and in the Copa del Rey, but not yet in La Liga. On Saturday, against Eibar, he has his last chance this season to play in La Liga.
The United States international has previously been called up for 17 league games. This will be the 18th. Almost half of Barça's games this season. He's been in the first-team dynamic practically all season, but when it's mattered, he has not had a lot of participation in Ronald Koeman's side.
In the Champions League, he has seven minutes in Kyiv and 10 more in Budapest. In the Copa del Rey, he had 19 at Cornella. In total, 36 minutes in which he didn't really have much time to show his speed and skill on the wing. Three dribbles, 11 passes and three recoveries.
In recent weeks, Konrad's been more focused on the B team. The step back to the second team is never easy to the youngster struggled. But he kept going and played a key part as Garcia Pimienta's side made the playoffs, only to lose to UCAM Murcia in the semifinal last weekend.
Konrad has also debuted for the USMNT this season. On Nov. 12, 2020, he played against Wales, starting before coming off in the 71st minute.
The only thing missing now is a La Liga appearance and he hopes it will come at Eibar. If it's not at Ipurua, he will have to wait until next season.
