Samuel Umtiti spoke in an emotional manner during his official unveiling as Barça's latest acquisition, insisting that this has long been a dream of his and the Camp Nou is the right place to be at this stage in his career.
The 22-year-old joins on a five-year contract from Olympique Lyonnais and will play alongside the likes of Gerard Pique and Javier Mascherano next season in defence.
Umtiti is the third summer signing for the Blaugrana in addition to Denis Suarez and Lucas Digne.
"I'm very happy and excited to be here," he began, "It's a dream come true, I must thank all the people who've made this move possible.
"When I knew I had the possibility to come to Barça it really touched me, I even cried a little. It's a dream, since childhood I wanted to come here.
"I can't wait to play alongside these great players. I came here to progress and learn a lot with players who have more experience than me.
"My standards are very high, I'm a player and competitor and want to play [every week]. I'll work hard and show that I have the quality to help the club, I know there a good players in my [centre back] position."
