Tuchel cools Chelsea's interest in signing Barça midfielder De Jong
The German coach says the Premier League side are well stocked in midfield
Chelsea coach Thomas Tuchel appeared to play down the club's interest in Frenkie de Jong after Sunday's 3-0 loss to Leeds United.
Along with Manchester United, Chelsea are one of the two clubs to have held talks with Barcelona over a potential deal for the Dutch midfielder.
However, Tuchel, without referencing De Jong directly, suggested he is already happy with the stock of midfielders current at his disposal.
"Another midfielder?" he responded. "We have Jorginho, we have N'Golo Kante, we have Ruben Loftus-Cheek, we have Conor Gallagher, we have Mateo Kovacic. They're [Kante and Kovacic] injured, yeah. They will come back."
Chelsea are also keen on Barça striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and are more optimistic about signing the former Arsenal man before the transfer window closes.
