"Neymar remains key to PSG, both offensively and defensively," the German boss said

Paris Saint-Germain coach Thomas Tuchel has spoken about Neymar, one of the team's stars, during an interview with beIN Sports in the middle of the coronavirus pandemic.

While the Brazilian is in his homeland, he continues to be linked with a move away from Paris in the summer. However, Tuchel made it clear that he still has a big role to play for PSG.

"Neymar remains key to PSG, both offensively and defensively," the German boss said. "He's still a reliable player in the big games. He works hard, he's always there, and he's very smart with the ball at his feet.

"And we saw against Borussia Dortmund that he gained leadership, as he played the first leg after being injured. But he improved physically and you could see that in his performance.

"He showed us that he was there, he took responsibility. He showed us the real Neymar. He's a brilliant footballer."

Barcelona remain interested in signing Neymar, who left the club for PSG in 2017, although there's uncertainty about how a deal would be structured due to the coronavirus crisis.
