Trincao pressing Barcelona to accept Sporting Club offer

The Portuguese winger fell out of favour and never secured a place in the team

Francisco Trincao wants to go back to the Portuguese league. And more concretely, to Sporting Lisbon. He is convinced he can find his best form again back home, the form that drew Barcelona into paying 31m euros for his signing.

He’s pressing Barcelona into accepting Sporting’s proposal, after Wolves did not activate their 30m euro buy option he had while on loan there last season.

It’s not so easy, however. Barcelona think he’s a young, talented player still and don’t want to assume loses on their deal. They will only accept a transfer fee over 20m euros, or a loan with an option to buy for the same quantity.

Sporting Lisbon are offering a loan with a non obligatory option of 15m euros plus 5m in variables.

Despite what Trincao wants, Barcelona are not giving in and there’s a chance he will be in pre-season under Xavi and the coach looks at him. If Ousmane Dembele leaves, the squad will be short on wingers.

Sporting think it’s a question of time before Barcelona give in.
