"Thanks for all your support, in the stadium and around the city. You always supported me"

Francisco Trincao, who will be a Barcelona player next season, said an emotional goodbye to Sporting Braga's supporters on Monday after helping them qualify for the Europa League.

Trincao has spent nine years at the Portuguese club but will not head to Barça after the two clubs agreed a 31 million euro fee in January.

"I have felt a little nostalgic during the last few days," he told Braga's official website. "I thought about everything that's happened at this club, all the pitches I played at in the days when there wasn't even a training ground.

"They were complicated days in that sense. I was in the dressing room almost crying because this was my home during my teenage years and without a doubt I am going to miss it."

A big change

Trincao assured that his relationship with the city of Braga "has still not ended. Maybe I'll be back on my holidays or maybe when I arrive in Barcelona I will realise that things are going to change. It will take me a little while, but this is football.

"Thanks for all your support, in the stadium and around the city. You always supported me, even when I played less. I was always well received on the streets. Braga will always be my home."
