Tottenham emerge as favourites to land Barcelona midfielder Kessie

The ex-Milan man is not getting the playing time he hoped at Camp Nou

Franck Kessie's future will be decided in December, although everything indicates that he will remain at Barcelona until the end of the season after his agent's meeting with the Catalan club this week.

There are several offers on the table, though, and Premier League side Tottenham are best positioned to sign him if he does leave, but Barça don't want to lose him if they cannot sign a replacement.

Kessié wants to play more and he knows first-hand that his situation is complicated because there is a lot of competition in midfield at Camp Nou and because his performances have not fully convinced the coaching staff. Despite all that, his goal was to give his all until June and then make a decision.

In recent weeks, several clubs have approached both Barça and the player's agent to ask about his situation. There are offers from Inter and Napoli to his agent, while Tottenham have directly been in touch with Barça.

In all three cases, the clubs are seeking either a loan or a free transfer, but Tottenham's offer includes an option to buy. Spurs coach Antonio Conte knows the footballer well.

The main problem is Kessie's salary. Upon arriving as a free agent, he receives just over €5 million euros net per season, something that is holding other clubs back. At the moment, everyone is asking him to lower his salary over a long-term deal.

Kessie remains firm in his intention to continue, although if Barça decide he should leave, he will not cause any problems. Milan are also following the situation, but they would not make a move until the summer.
