"Todibo already thought he was a phenomenon & he lacks humility"

The Barça defender's former agent has explained why his career hasn't progressed yet

Everyone that knows him says the same thing about Jean-Clair Todibo: he's a player with huge quality but with an attitude that could be improved. His former agent, Bruno Satin, has explained as much in comments made to Calciotoday.

"We are happy with the job we did getting him to Barcelona, but now I am not in charge of his interests," Satin said. "He has a difficult character. He never listened to the advice (former Barça sporting director Eric) Abidal gave him.

"The club believed in him, but Todibo thought he was already a phenomenon. For that reason, his adventure in La Liga didn't go well. He has quality, but what he lacks is humility."

Todibo is currently on loan at Portuguese side Benfica from Barça, although he could be returned this month having hardly featured.

Asked what club would suit Todibo, Satin added: "A quiet club would be ideal for him. Maybe a slightly smaller club than Lazio, who are very ambitious and there's a lot of pressure. I don't think that would be the best for his career.

"He has to play again, but in a club where he can make the mistakes that will help him improve. Even the greatest players need that. Being on the bench isn't good for anyone."

Finally, the former representative of the French centre-back lamented that he's still not found his path in the game.

Satin said: "He has great physique, is athletic, he has everything to do well. But he needs to improve his head. He has to focus properly. There are players with less talent than him and that have been able to emerge.

"He has to learn a lot more and need feel like a phenomenon. I still don't know, even now, how he works and the people close to him don't help. It's a shame."
