The coach wants the player to be made available for selection whilst the sporting department insist he won't play again

Thomas Tuchel wants Adrien Rabiot back in his PSG team. This week he explained that he was 'nervous' about the player's situation after Rabiot was essentially removed from the first team picture. It leaves PSG with a shortage of options in midfield as Lass Diarra has also seen his contract rescinded.

PSG's director of football, Antero Henrique, confirmed the club's stance in December. "Adrien Rabiot will remain on the bench for an indefinite period of time." According to 'Le Parisien', despite the ruling from the sporting department, Tuchel wants Rabiot to be made available for selection.

It's also true that should the situation of the player remain the same, PSG could face legal problems. The comments from Henrique, openly admitting they won't use Rabiot, could be challenged as a breach of contract.

Tuchel hopes to win his battle to have Rabiot part of his plans again, even if the supporters want him out too, at least until the midfielder's situation has been resolved.
