PSG players have defended team-mate Adrien Rabiot, who is leaving the French club. After the game against Nantes, Thomas Meunier spoke in the mixed zone about the Barcelona target.
Asked about the conflict between player and club, Meunier lamented that they ‘finished’ in this way, with the directors announcing he would be a reserve until his contract expires at the end of the season.
“It’s lamentable that the situation is ending in this way. The club’s position is that they were not able to renew his deal and in the dressing room we understand what has happened,” said Meunier.
“Adrien is a great player who, because of his talent, could fit in at the best teams in the world.
“The fact that an offer arrive for him from such a big club is something that you can’t rule out at his age, in that position, and in the face of such a proposition it’s hard to say no.”
Meunier did not mention Barcelona specifically but they are extremely interested in the midfielder. Juventus are also interested too.
