Antoine Griezmann starting shouldn't be news, but it is. After the trash minutes he was given against Atletico, the news has been Griezmann focused for days. And against Villarreal he showed what he can do, becoming a radiant sun.
Quique Setien went for a trident with him alongside Messi and Suarez. They moved freely and showed what the attack should have looked like all season. He has not participated so much in any other game and he looked wired.
He was present for the first goal, pressuring Pau Torres to put through his own net. However his big moment was Barca's third. Griezmann finished with a 20-yard chip, a touch of class. A goal which shows why Barca thought they should pay 120 million euros for him.
Luis Suarez went off before him and Griezmann became the team's reference point. Antoine combined well with his team-mates and generally thrived. Eventually he made way for Ansu Fati. Let's hope this is the start of the new Griezmann.
