This is how the new, young Barca will be
The club are betting on young players to have a big role in the 2020-21 season
Barcelona will turn to youth players next season. They will have an injection of youth, talent and freshness for a team that has shown symptoms of burn-out.
Pedro (17 years) and Trincao (20) are among highlights of the new model, while Riqui Puig (20), Araujo (21) and Ansu Fati (17), will be important first teamers.
Alex Collado and Monchu, from the B team, 20, will also have chances. They are all a similar profile - young, plenty of potential, complete commitment and desire for trophies.
Carles Alena, 22, who can come back in from loan from Real Betis, may earn his space in the team too. Quique Setien may be inclined to give him a chance.
FUTURE OF THE LOANEES
There are more doubts. Oriol Busquets (21), Miranda (20), Todibo (20) and Wagué (21) have contracts, but the intention of the club is to loan them out again or sell. Rafinha (27) is a clear sale.
The seven young players expected to get into the first team (Ansu, Pedri, Riqui, Trincao, Araujo, Collado and Aleñá) have an average age of 19.7 years.
They will join more experienced but still young players - De Jong and Dembele are both 23, while Lenglet is just 25. Junior Firpo is 23 but he may leave.
