The club hopes to modernise the surroundings of Camp Nou and the stadium

Espai Barca was a big topic at the AGM on Sunday. Elena Fort, the director and CEO Ferran Reverter, explained that the project will not cost fans money or put the club in danger.

The financing operation that the club will negotiate through international operators who are experts in financing stadiums and sports facilities has an investment estimate of up to 1.5 billion euros. It will have a market interest rate and a 35-year return, with five years of grace, while the stadium is being reformed.

This 1.5 bn is divided up into 900m for the new Camp Nou, 420m for the new Palau Blaugrana, 100m for the urbanisation of the surroundings and Barça campus, 60m in investments with MPGM (modification of the metropolitan general plan) and 20m for improvements to the Johan Cruyff stadium.

It was expected to cost 600m back in 2014 when the initial plan was agreed.
