There's only room for one Barça star in L'Equipe's Champions League XI
In a surprise to no one, Messi makes the XI; so too does future Barça man Frenkie De Jong
French newspaper 'L'Equipe' have revealed their Best XI in the Champions League. This is based off all the player's ratings throughout the tournament.
The only representative for Barça is Lionel Messi. And whilst he might be wearing the same shirt as Leo next season, Frenkie de Jong is there for his performances with Ajax. Matthijs de Ligt is also included.
Liverpool, who were crowned European champions, have three players in the team: Trent Alexander-Arnold, Virgil van Dijk and Jordan Henderson.
Real Madrid have no one in the team after being knocked out earlier than expected by Ajax. Tottenham, who finished as runners up, see goalkeeper Hugo Lloris included. Ajax have the most with four.
Cristiano Ronaldo is there despite Juventus not winning the competition due to the volumne of goals he scored. Here is the XI in full: Lloris, Arnold, Van Dijk, De Ligt, Tagliafico, De Jong, Henderson, Silva, Ziyech, Messi, Cristiano Ronaldo.
