The Barcelona forward is hopeful of facing Granada on Sep 20th

If nothing changes, Ansu Fati can return to action when Barcelona face Granada at Camp Nou on September 20. That’s when the medical team are expecting he will be ready or feature again. He can make his debut with the No 10 shirt, inheriting it from the departed Lionel Messi.

The young forward has trained with the group since August 24 and is having his own pre-season effectively at the moment.

He has been working with a physio too to get as fit as possible and he has not had days off now like others not called up. Everything is going well, but Barca won’t force his comeback for the games against Sevilla and Bayern on the 11th and 14th (if Sevilla game takes place). Ronald Koeman has already said the club would move forward carefully.

Ansu last appeared on November 6th, when he was injured against Real Betis, winning a penalty. He was operated on by Ramon Cugat to fix his left knee meniscus issue. The feelings were not good and Ansu had to go back in after inflammation and infection. The player has had to have three more surgeries, the latest in May, in Porto. He is now nearly ready.
