The Catalan club will be monitoring the stars of tomorrow closely at the finals

This Saturday the U20 World Cup kicks off in Argentina, where the Spanish national team will not be playing. The competition is one of the most important dates of the current season for Barça's scouting department, which is diligently directed by Paulo Araujo. Two of its members will be on-site to carry out a detailed monitoring of all the talent that will be present at a tournament that will also bring together professionals from all the major European clubs.

In 2023, Barça have already been present at the three major grassroots tournaments that have been held in South America, starting with the Copa Sao Paulo de Juniores, the traditional Copinha, considered the benchmark youth tournament in Brazil.

Subsequently, there were the two editions of the South American Championship: first in Colombia in the U20 category, where Vitor Roque (who is now the club's number one target to reinforce the position of No9 in the first team) stood out, and then the U17 category in Ecuador, where another Brazilian striker, Kaua Elías (Fluminense), of whom Barça took very good note, and the left winger Rayan (Vasco da Gama), shone. Both tournaments ended with Brazilian victories.
