The strange cases of defenders Todibo and Umtiti at Barcelona

Umtiti: Me encantaría acabar en el Barça pero...
Soy joven, ¿eh? Tengo tiempo y tengo que jugar, jugar y jugar y ganar títulos, manifiesta el francés en una entrevista a Futbolmanía / | Futbolmania

Both tested positive for coronavirus over a month ago but haven't re-appeared

Coronavirus has changed lift for everyone, even in football. In the world of professional sport, a number of measures have been introduced to ensure games can be played and there are strict protocols in place: continual testing, quarantines etc.

However, players have still been contracting the virus. At Barça, both Jean-Clair Todibo and Samuel Umtiti tested positive for in August -- almost at the same time. Neither defender has a future at the club under Ronald Koeman and have been made available for transfer.

Todibo tested positive on August 12, almost one month ago. The ex-Toulouse man was due to start training but instead went into isolation. He wrote on social media that he was asymptomatic and was expected back after around two weeks in quarantine, assuming he gave negative on two PCR tests. But almost a month later, there's no news of his return. There's still no news of new PCR tests.

The situation with Umtiti is similar. He did not travel to Lisbon for the Champions League due to injury but was tested and returned a positive result. That was on August 14 and there's still no news on his return. 'Sam' was also asymptomatic.
