Vice president Jordi Moix spoke at the 'Espai Barça' in Tokyo and is hopeful the stadium will be completely ready to use within five years

FC Barcelona are taking advantage of their tour in Japan to focus on matters aside from the Rakuten Cup. Jordi Moix presented the new 'Espai Barça' project in the Instituto Cervantes, Tokyo. Moix spoke about the history of the club, its values and gave some more details about the renovation work being undertaken at the Camp Nou. The director of that work, Will Mannarelli, said he hopes for the work to be completed in 2024.

Moix also confirmed that Barça have 20 hectares of land around the Camp Nou and they "must put a value on that land". Part of the restructuring project includes a Campus Barça, offices, a hotel and a new Palau Blaugrana. These changes will allow the club to generate more income as they look to remain competitive with the top teams in the world.

Whilst Mannarelli said 2024 was the target for the work to be finished, Moix said they would need to wait until all the planning permission and paperwork was finalised before being able to give an accurate date for completion of the project.
