The Italian club remain keen on the Brazilian midfielder

The possible exchange deal involving Arthur Melo and Miralem Pjanoic has become one of the most talked-about deals during football's coronavirus break.

While many Barcelona players have been put forward as possible makeweights in a deal for Pjanic, Juventus are clear that their priority is the arrival of Arthur.

'La Gazzetta dello Sport' explain as much and detail the reasons why the Italian champions are so fixed on the Brazilian midfielder.

The first reason is structural. Juve believe he would fit perfectly onto the left side of the team's midfield. They think he's a player that would enhance the team's evolving style and help get more out of players like Ronaldo, Douglas Costa and Dybala.

Another aspect they value is Arthur's salary. He only recently arrived in Europe from Brazil and his wages aren't massive. In fact, he earns a lot less than some of the other players at Camp Nou, so Juve could even offer aa wage rise without breaking the back.

Finally, they like his age. Arthur is still only 23 and is a signing for the long-term as well as the future. The Serie A side are convinced he can continue to develop and will be a key player in the coming years, in contrast to Pjanic, who is now 30.
