The Brazilian defender put on a show at his presentation on Wednesday

Barcelona right back Dani Alves came out at Camp Nou for his presentation without shoes on, something Colombian defender Yerry Mina did back in the day. He spoke to over 10,000 fans in the stands, signing his contract and then coming back out to kick a ball around.

The Brazilian, 38, arriving as a free agent, entertained the fans who supported him before between 2008-16 at Barça. He wore flip-flops at first but when he came out to walk around the pitch he left them by the benches.

The reason he did it is due to the religious text Deuteronomy 11:24, which says: “Every place where you set your foot will be yours: Your territory will extend from the desert to Lebanon, and from the Euphrates River to the Mediterranean Sea.”
