The former Barcelona coach has been accused of "arrogance"

Luis Enrique has been linked with Arsenal and Chelsea but the former Barcelona coach will not take over either of the Premier League clubs next season.

The reason? According to Marca, who cite sources from both clubs, is his character and, above all, his arrogance. For that reason he's been ruled out of replacing either Arsene Wenger or Antonio Conte.

"The conversations with [Luis Enrique] didn't have a happy ending. Marina Granoskaia is Roman Abramovich person of trust and is in charge of all areas of the club, especially the sporting side of things," the Madrid-based newspaper explained.

"At first, in January and February, it seemed as if the meetings would end with some kind of agreement, but Luis Enrique's personality put the brakes on that."

The reports claim that Chelsea's directors highlighted Lucho's "arrogance" and ruled him out because "there wasn't a feeling" between the two parties at "any moment."

With Arsenal, something similar could have happened, although other sources suggest Luis Enrique's financial demands scuppered a move to the Emirates.
