The Catalans bought the defender from Sevilla, fighting off Chelsea
It is official Jules Koundé is a new Barcelona player. The French defender, 23 years old, who arrives from Sevilla, will sign on until 2027.
Barça have paid €50 million for the defender plus €10 million more in variables. Of that 10, five are easy to accomplish for Sevilla, which helped facilitate the deal between the two clubs.
The transfer of Koundé for Barça came to fruition thanks to the player's desire to play at Camp Nou, instead of moving to Chelsea, who had a deal for the defender with the Andalusian side.
