The meeting between Leo Messi and his father - and agent - Jorge Messi has ended as the pair discussed the options available to the greatest of all-time. Leo and Barça have refused to back down to the other's demands ever since the player sent a burofax on the 25th August saying he would exercise the 'exit clause' in his contract.
Jorge Messi, alongside his other son Rodrigo, met Leo at his home in Castelldefels and spent around an hour there.
The Barça captain will speak with his family about the current situation before making another attempt to speak with Bartomeu.
In Jorge Messi's previous meeting with Bartomeu neither side were willing to back down with the club insisting Leo must see out the final year of his contract.
Reports in Argentina claim Leo will now spend another season at the Camp Nou rather than trying to force his departure from the club.
Bartomeu presented Jorge with an offer for Leo to extend his contract for another two years. He also let it be known that if Messi claimed he was a free agent and signed for a new team, Barça would begin legal action against their star man.
