Digne could leave Camp Nou this summer after two years at the club

Cucurella & Alaba would be the options to replace the Frenchman

The January transfer window is about to close but Barcelona are still working on improving Ernesto Valverde's hand. So far this month, Coutinho and Yerry Mina have arrived, while Rafinha, Arda Turan, Deulofeu and Mascherano have left. However, the machine is still working and there will be more movement in the summer.

Lucas Digne could be one of the players looking for an exit at the end of the season. He has been at the club for 18 months as competition for Jordi Alba. He has fitted in well in the dressing room but his status at the club is not as strong as it is with France, where he hopes to be the starting left-back at the World Cup due to Mendy's injury.

Barça understand he wants more minutes, but when he has had a chance he has not been able to hit the level set by Alba in recent seasons.

Digne's possible exit would mean a new left-back in the first team. On the one hand, Barça may decide to go in-house. Cucurella and Juan Miranda would be options from La Masia. Both have progressed well and shown signs that they could have a future at Camp Nou.

On the other hand, according to AS, David Alaba's name is on the table. The possible signing of the Bayern Munich man, though, would reduce Barça's chances of signing Arthur and Griezmann. The French international would not arrive for less than 100 million euros and the Brazilian midfielder would not be cheap. Therefore, the high cost of Alaba could mean no deal.

What's clear is that Barça are still working hard to continually evolve and strengthen the squad after making the two most expensive signings in their history: Dembele and Coutinho. Digne could be the next to pack his bags and that would oblige Barça to react. Let's see what happens in the summer and what solutions the club comes up with.
