Samuel Umtiti's future at Barcelona is on the line, with his contract negotiations with the club breaking down and Man United trying to lure him to Old Trafford. The Frenchman's deal expires in 2021 and he has a 60m euro release clause.

Umtiti landed on his feet. Although he has a low media profile he is liked by his team-mates and has fitted in superbly at the club. His great partnership with Pique has helped him become loved by the fans.
ROBERT COuld be key
Robert Fernandez helped bring Umtiti to Barca from Lyon and he will be in charge of trying to get the defender to stay. Robert knows it will be tough but believes he can convince the player to stay.
BARCA's SIDE
They want to keep him and know it will be difficult to get a replacement of his quality. But they do not want to break their salary policy and will not spend more on fattening their salary base to satisfy Umtiti.
FUTURE UNKNOWN
Nothing is certain right now. They suspect he may move to United but are not ruling out a renewal. Everything is open. Barca would like the matter resolved before the World Cup but it's too soon to say if Umtiti will lower his demands or keep them as they are.
