Dest passed his medical on Wednesday, and waited for Ajax and Barca to reach a deal - 21m euros plus 5m in variables.
He will wear the No 2 shirt.
Dest was photographed at Camp Nou. He arrives as the replacement for Nelson Semedo, who went to Wolves.
He had a brief chat with coach Ronald Koeman but isn't on the squad list for the clash with Celta Vigo on Thursday night.
The ex Ajax player came close to a Bayern switch but preferred to move to Camp Nou.
