The dressing room gives its blessing to Leo Messi

Xavi is the person who has fought hardest, from the very first minute, for Leo Messi's return to Barça to become a reality. Much remains to be done and everything must fit together perfectly, especially financially, but the coach, if the circumstances are right for the Argentinian to return to the Blaugrana, will have everything ready as far as the dressing room is concerned.

As soon as he landed at the Camp Nou to lead a new sporting project, Xavi refused to accept the departure of the No 10 to Paris. From the first minute, in his permanent contact with the player, he began to sound out the possibility that, when the time came, he would go the other way and swap PSG for Barça. He made this clear to Leo himself, but also to Joan Laporta, who made a commitment to the coach at the end of 2021, a few weeks after Xavi took over the bench, to find a solution to rebuild a relationship that was shattered into a thousand pieces when the club broke the agreement for the Argentine's renewal: "We are all adults and, if we have to sit down and talk, we will do it."

So much so that Xavi has already held several meetings with the heavyweights in the dressing room to, on the one hand, explain the situation and, more importantly, to share his ideas about how Messi will fit into the squad. Xavi has met with Ter Stegen, whose relationship with Leo had some tense episodes. The German, competitive to the max, has blessed the operation and, far from showing any qualms, has been delighted with the idea of his return.

The coach has also spoken to Dembele, who is convinced that Leo's return would be excellent news for the project. In fact, Xavi has shared the idea he has on a tactical level and all that the PSG player would add in attack as a playmaker in a midfield made up of four men in a diamond formation.

Lewandowski, in fact, would be one of the players who would benefit most from Messi's return and, after talking to the coach, he has also blessed the operation, something he did publicly recently. He is aware that there is a lack of talent in the attacking line and that his performances would increase playing alongside the Argentinian.

Sergio Busquets, one of the captains, is also keeping a close eye on how events unfold because if Leo does return, his intention is to stay on for another season and delay his departure from the Camp Nou. Xavi sees him as indispensable in the team alongside the world champion and has assured him that the signing of the No 10 will end up being a reality.
