Xavi Hernández the coach of Qatari side Al-Sadd put forward eight conditions when he was offered the same role at Barcelona by Erica Abidal and Oscar Grau in January.
Abidal and Grau traveled to Doha for talks with Xavi as they sought a replacement for Ernesto Valverde at Camp Nou. According to Cadena Ser, the ex-midfielder wanted the job in the summer and not in January.
Among his other petitions, he also wanted control of signings, the incorporation fo former teammate Carles Puyol and major input in academy-related issues to aid the club's long-term vision.
Xavi also asked for the club to bring back Joan Vila to help with the academy and he also wanted Jordi Cruyff involved.
Other requests included remodeling the club's medical department -- he wanted to replace the current boss of medical services at Barcelona. Finally, he wanted his brother, Oscar, as part of his coaching staff,
Abidal and Grau took these petitions to the Barcelona president, Josep Maria Bartomeu, who was surprised by the demands and cooled the talks with the Catalan coach.
According to the report, Bartomeu wanted someone to take over immediately and was not willing to wait until the summer.
