The deal Barcelona have with Adama Traore for him to stay

Adama Traore will stay at Barcelona next season. The deal is not sealed but the club are committed to keeping the player after he arrived on loan in January and made an economic effort because of the club’s situation. The player's agent, Jorge Mendes, was the one who devised the entire operation in the winter market and has different solutions so that the cost to Barça is minimal. Everyone is delighted with Adama’s performance, but the idea is not to have to pay a purchase option that would exceed 30 million euros.

The signing of Adama was already proposed last summer, but the sports department at the time did not think it was a great idea since Dembele remained in the squad and in theory Ansu Fati was going to return soon. In the following months, Jorge Mendes was insisting on the subject and during the month of December practically everything was agreed upon. In fact, Adama Traore gave the OK during the Christmas holidays after speaking personally with Joan Laporta. He was on loan and his salary had to be adjusted, but the effort would be rewarded from June with him staying in the Blaugrana shirt. Adama wanted to return home and decided not to listen to Tottenham's offer, which was bigger.

At this time, the club is committed to following through on that as long as Wolves accepts any of Jorge Mendes' proposals. The relationship between the Portuguese agent and the English club is exceptional and the first thing that is going to be attempted is an Adama-Trincao swap. Or even offering another player from the squad in this exchange so that everyone is satisfied. Wolves already wanted Riqui Puig in the past and they have his name on the table. If this is not possible, Adama could renew for one more year with the English club and his loan would be extended for one season at Barça.
