The academy youngster has been linked with moves away in recent years but he finally made his official debut with FC Barcelona in the Copa del Rey

The world of 'Barcelonismo' can remain calm: Riqui Puig is tied down to a contract - and tied down well. The midfielder signed a new deal in the summer and the negotiations went smoothly. Puig's desire to stay, after being at the club since he was a kid, made it even easier to reach an agreement.

After a month of talks, Puig signed his new contract on the 11th June. It was the president himself, Josep Maria Bartomeu, who made sure a deal was struck which would see the player remain at the Camp Nou. Puig signed a three-year deal, with an option for a further two, and his buyout clause is a whopping €100m. The only academy starlet with a bigger clause is Oriol Busquets, who has a €200m price tag to buyout his contract.

Bartomeu appeared in the photo celebrating Riqui Puig's new deal and that shows, alongside 'Busi', how high the expectations are when it comes to the midfielder.
