The Uruguayan's deal expires in 2021 but it may get extended...

Luis Suarez continues to recover from the knee injury that forced him to undergo surgery after the Spanish Super Cup in January.

In the meantime, the Uruguayan striker has given an interview to RAC1, in which he has revealed the existence of a clause in his current deal.

The radio station has released an extract of the chat, which will air on Friday night, detailing how Suarez could end up staying at Camp Nou beyond the 2021 expiration date on his current terms.

"Next season, if I play 60 percent of the games I am available for, I renew (my deal) automatically," the No.9 explained.

On his injury, he added: "I was used to playing with the pain. I dragged on with discomfort for years and, because of that, I was putting pressure on other areas of the knee.

“I know that I am criticised for my operations and my discomfort, but I am strong in the face of these comments and what I will try is to do is come back sooner than what is being said.”

Suarez was ruled out for four months in January but he's working hard to be back sooner and hopes to feature again this season in some capacity.
