The forward's two year deal could become a three year deal unilaterally

The relationship between Barcelona and Memphis Depay could be longer than initially announced. According to Esport3, there's a clause for a third year to be added to the Dutchman's contract unilaterally.

Per the report, Barça would only have to advise Memphis before Dec. 31 2022 that they want to extend his deal by an additional year. That's six months before his terms expire. All the conditions have been agreed.

Memphis, who turned down bigger offers, will have the chance to play for Barça under the orders of Ronald Koeman. The former Lyon forward knows the coach well from their time together with the Dutch national team.

The forward, who has been announced but not presented, is currently taking part in Euro 2020 with the Netherlands. He's scored two goals in three games at the finals.
