Throughout Monday. The magazine France Football announced the nominees for the Ballon d'Or 2019.

The players were named in groups of five, while the 10 goalkeepers up for the Yashin Award were also revealed.

Here are the Barça players that have been nominated on the order of their appearance:

1.- FRENKIE DE JONG

The Barcelona midfielder was the first to be released. At 22, he's been rewarded for his brilliant season at Ajax, who he helped win a domestic double and reach the Champions League semifinal, and his bright start at Barça. He joined the Catalans in the summer and is already a key player in Ernesto Valverde's side.

2.- Marc-André Ter Stegen

In the second group of nominees appeared German goalkeeper Marc-André Ter Stegen. He's in great form and proof of that is three clean sheets in his last three league games, against Getafe, Sevilla and Eibar. He's also in the running for the Yashin Award, which goes to the best goalkeeper of 2019.

3.- LEO MESSI

The five-time winner of the Ballon d'Or is the favourite to win it this year after recently being crowned The Best by FIFA.

4.- ANTOINE GRIEZMANN

A World Cup winner in 2018, Griezmann left Atletico this past summer to join Barcelona with the hope of winning La Liga and the Champions League. The Frenchman looks more adapted to his new surroundings with each game and is among the Ballon d'Or nominees.

Lieke Martens, nominated for women's Ballon d'Or

As for the women's prize, Barcelona star Lieke Martens is among the 20 nominees. She helped Barça reach the World Cup final and went to the World Cup final with the Netherlands.
